Areas of practice
Criminal Proceedings
We represent national and foreign corporations or individuals, either in the defense or prosecution of any crime, especially of financial nature.
As victim or offended party, your safety and protection is our main concern. We develop effective strategies to prove the criminal act as well as the defendant’s possible commission or participation. We focus our efforts in obtaining full compensation for the crime-related damages.
As the accused party, we provide technical and professional defense. We safeguard your freedom and prove your innocence. We also analyze the suitability and negotiate possible alternative solutions, as well as the means for early termination of the process.
Criminal Amparo Trial (Habeas corpus)
Our professional practice aims for the protection of human rights, both of the accused and the victim. Therefore, we contest laws, judicial resolutions and acts of authority on their constitutional or conventional merit.
Pro bono
Given the extreme social inequality in Mexico, and the number of victims and defendants who do not have sufficient resources to hire adequate legal representation, we advise and sponsor just causes pro bono. We also collaborate with a wide range of institutions and foundations to contribute to the improvement of the criminal justice system.
Corporate Criminal Compliance
Companies can be criminally liable for offenses committed by third parties on their behalf, for their benefit or through the means they provide. To avoid this situation, they must prove to have observed due control within the organization. For this purpose, we specialize in the analysis and detection of criminal risks, as well as in the design and implementation of criminal compliance programs, in order to exclude the criminal liability of the corporation.
Additionally, we advise our clients on how to comply with the provisions of the Federal Law for the Prevention and Identification of Money Laundering, as well as the obligations that derive from the National Anticorruption System.
Extradition Procedure
We address passive extradition procedures. We protect and assist our clients, from the request for an arrest warrant until the end of the process, securing their interests and personal freedom throughout.
In active extradition proceedings, we take a stand as experts in Mexican criminal law, and collaborate with law firms of the requested country in order to contest the causes of the extradition request, as well as to obtain evidence.
